Arnie Kitchener
Elder
Arnie and his wife, Diane, have five children and thirteen grandchildren. Arnie came to faith in Christ at the age of 21 on January 4, 1975.
He graduated from Clay Center High School in 1971 and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries from Grace College of the Bible in 1980. He began his ministry serving as an assistant pastor in Iowa, and then as a senior pastor, before the Lord led him and Diane into missions.
In 1985, they joined New Tribes Mission (now Ethnos360) and moved to Brazil in 1987, where they served among an indigenous people group until 2014. Over those years, Community Bible Church supported their ministry, and they developed close relationships with the church family. After many years of spending furloughs in Abilene, they moved here permanently at the end of 2019.
Arnie and Diane began attending CBC regularly after moving to Abilene. He became an elder in January of 2026. He is especially passionate about encouraging the body of Christ, whether through one-on-one conversations, small groups, or serving wherever there is a need.
